Did your stolen BMW 535 appear that was taken by the fake AA Recovery guys and Tracker disabled? Is it the same people involved I wonder? Sh*t, you've had some bad luck with vehicles in the last 3 months (how many have been stolen?)... at least nobody got seriously hurt.

Get yourself a pay as you go phone from Tesco for £10, that'll help you keep in touch.

Tried to call my friend in CID this afternoon but no answer. Perhaps he's on shift, left a voicemail, will let you know once he gets back to me. Sounds like you're not getting the attention this scenario deserves.

Just don't tell the insurance co if you are vat registered. They otherwise deduct vat from everything they pay out, they tried that with me.

cheers mate :-) i was also told they are off shift, 4 days on 4 days off???

4 on 4 off shifts sounds right, but there is always someone on, back to back if you like. There is no way they could operate otherwise.

How did forensics get on?

forensic man was awesome, sadly no leads, was really funny as he notices a track day sticker for SdCC (curborough) and hes just made a membr with his souped up impreza!!! lol, we arranged to meet up at the next event.....

if you do speak to your mate, can you please ask him to drop me a call as i havent spoken to anyone at all from cid, i even had to CALL to get my crime number, considering i was held at gunpoint id kinda expected alittle more attention..... anyway i dont want to harp on about cid any longer and await their call :-) ive called and updated them with my new location and landline here....

I've come back to this thread time and time again, thinking I'd say something something encouraging or at least lightening, but I just can't find the words.

So I'll just state the obvious: so glad you and the boy are OK. Hang in there mate.

Only just seen your post, am so glad your little lad was unharmed, and like everyone else am shocked at this, chin up matey. Take care

Rach

guys i need EVERYONE on this board to re evaluate how they are living.... and im being serious, if your opening the door late in the evening??? why?? really why?? are you alone?? if so get people round abit.... high value vehcile/s at the house, keep them garaged.....

this hgad made me look at my security in another light and im not happy with it....

i wonder how many other people would have opened the door like i did?? im guessing quite a few ;-)

Guys wanting to help... really appreciate the offers but kinda feel abit wierd giving out crime numbers and addresses and stuff, maybe i could call you or something?? i guess im understandably jumpy...

well training starts back today so back in the gym and the ring... looking forward to it... again please excuse spelling, im stuggling to see the screen...

i was driving around in the z4 yesterday and wahooooo it felt great, my moms gardener came over and said good god thats awesome, "they have killed you for that".... i agree.....

just wondering has anyone reconcidered their procedures at home due to this???

Well I removed the list of my cars from my signature. And certainly going to use the little spy hole in the door.

It has really got me worried. More so about the gf and in particular the dogs. I mean, we'd do the sensible thing and let em get on with it. But the dogs.... And I swear, they hurt them and I don't care, someone wouldn't be leaving our house breathing.

I'd kill to protect my family, and wouldn't give it a second thought. Wish we were allowed to arm ourselves and protect what's rightfully ours and our families. It's a slippery slope I know, but I'd want a gun. But in this case, the option to get it out wouldn't be there, and it could have ended up very very worse.....

Emotions run high in these situations. I taught taekwondo up until a couple of years ago, (and have done various martial arts since the age of 5) I'm in my late 40's and have needed to defend myself precisely three times (including school fights). When we caught a drugged up burglar in the garage we let him walk away and called the cops. 1, I didn't want myself or my very agitated son to get belted by a pair of bolt croppers he was carrying and 2, I know the aggro I went through after one of those three times when I was genuinely in fear of serious injury and hospitalised my attacker while defending myself.

Guns, knives, weapons of any sort don't help, they just make the situation worse (queue the gun lobby to disagree)

Stuff is just stuff, and 99% of it can be replaced. Life can't. I know some of you will disagree, that's the beauty of a forum. Beedub's situation was an extreme one but he did exactly the right thing in my opinion. Now he's got the positive mental attitude of "hey, I get new stuff" and he lives to enjoy it. I hope the people who robbed him get caught, get put away and meet "bubba the gorilla sized sex pest" but I'm more grateful a forum member got to tell us about it rather than us hearing about a dead guy in the midlands and wondering why Beedub wasn't posting anymore.

Just be careful out there folks, and don't get sucked into "having a go". Be sensible, be secure but most of all, be safe to enjoy another day.

Tapatalking...
