C@nts! You and your boy are ok that's what matters. They are hopefully upside down in a ditch with a few sparks and an obvious fuel leak. Take care

Well I upgraded my locks to abs avocet ones, but I think from now on ill also keep a bike D-lock over the front door handles.

Cant imagine how your feeling, hope you get it all sorted soon.

I've read this thread in utter disbelief.

Beedup I'm glad you and son not seriously injured. I bet it still feels like a horrible nightmare, so hard to acknowledge as real.

I had heard of Somali gangs operating in the midlands area, targeted car theft etc, but not heard of such violence.

Thoughts with you dude.

(it would be very satisfying to see the culprits strung up and flogged ... To death)

christ,

which part of Sutton Coldfield do you live?

I guess this made Central News

Very sad to hear and I can't even start to image what state you are in at the moment! Hope they are caught and that soon you will feel safe again in your own home!

Jeez, I thought I was streetwise, as you'd say but whoa, what a shocker, relieved to hear you an family are ok apart from the mental trauma obviously ! Sounds like you've still got your soh so stronger than me that's for sure,

so sad to hear about this. shows the kind of risks ppl are taking these days for an easy buck. wonder how many ppl will get hit before they bring them down with a 36 month jail sentence with good behaviour :headbang:

Wow, shocked to hear that this has happened, very pleased your son slept through it though and no long term physical harm done.

Bastards for knocking a 70 year old woman around too like...

Good luck getting it sorted!

Given that they are Somali, they'll probably seek asylum. :headbang:

Holy S***t mate, really sorry and glad you and the little one are ok. Can't imagine how you feel right now exp with a gun being pointed at you, our garage got burgled just before xmas and they literary cleaned everything that was in there. The Z wasn't in there at the time, but everything else was taken including my wife's online shop stock (lots of it). These were more smash and grab rather then the calculated F***k wits that did this to you - we were pretty shaken with the whole incident even though they didn't get into the house... god knows what you feel like. Maybe you should consider renting your place and moving somewhere else....

As has been said, possessions are easily replaced - life isn't and thank god you and your family are ok.

This has got me thinking/ concerned.

Did they ring the door bell, you open it and they barged in, or did they just kick the door in and enter?

I often answer the door at night without a chain or anything.. as well i didnt i think needed to. Will def heed the warning especially as i live on my own.

The scary and more so depressing thing, is that this appears to be routine and quite common in many of the UK cities

So common that this incident didn’t even make local TV news or papers

I remember a similar thing happening to a forum member on the HonestJohn pages where I used to be much more active:-

http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=55381

This kind of raid may well be more common than we are led to believe even though the guys in the above thread weren't brandishing guns which I think makes this case even worse.

Still can't believe I've not seen this on the news.,. especially with all the other trivial stories they manage to cover. Thought the media would be all over this like a rash.

A similar story (no gun) here just made the front page of our regional paper. Bad times.

Same here... looked at local Brummy news and there was some story about not having enough asparagus for the asparagus show!!!

Can't be that hard for police to check cameras nearby for a CLS and TT can it? Not exactly going to blend in and roads at night are much quieter. As someone said, they must've been storing them nearby or in a truck to do multiple car thefts in one night.

You and your son are safe and that's what matters, though. We can only hope they get what they deserve.

Had this happen in Brasil aswell in our house but in England its amazing to hear, its a trauma aswell psychologically .At least everyone is ok in the end.

hi guys sorry for the lack of upadtes, im without any means of internet so using my moms computer, ok little update, i HAVE been contacted by the press bu again all messages seem to be left at the house, where im not located atm......im sure in due time this will be publised..... hell ive havent even had contact from the police as only Cid are dealing with this....... and im un contactable, ive just updated them with my new location and landline ......

fleet insurance is now notified.... home insurance is moving well, more than are so far proving to be pretty awesome......

again sorry to all the guys that have pm'd and thanks alot i will get to you soon , im just snowed under... brought some new glasses today but they take a week :-( luckily i dont need them to heavily, and have contact lenses also....

now... re how they entered, i opened the door, which i always have done and always do,..... pretty concerning really as this is something ive always done... :-( from now on, if the door knocks i will not be opening it again unless its someone i know, by this time these guys were in the house................

i cant remembe if i mention but security at the house will be going up notch 10..... ive basically removing the current door and frame and going for bullet proof spec steel carbon kevlar unit.....its a real monster and locks at each side of the door.... you'll need a truck to remove this fucker!!

right now, im petty much sitting tight and will not return to that house until the new doors are sorted i cant have my son in a propty that i feel unsafe, the current door setup looks great but is imo not enough for the way the world is heading, also investing in a pretty serious camera setup :-) look forward to building it all up really!!

also very much looking nto shiopping for my new items :-) wahooooo

Hope the forum's helped you through some of your pain - always good to share. Hope you're luck changes.
