⌛ E89: Retractable Hardtop (roof) Maintenance (and additional) tasks

With your bump (thread has been bloody helpful to me) a quick question. I'm a few pints in, you mention the 2x salmon relays and the 2x microswitches. The hall sensors, can't remember how many there are, are they included in the hydrolic harness or something separate?

Please switch over to the hall sensor section, as this HowTo section should not be used for discussions.

Thanks.

Tomorrow on Black Friday Leebmann24 offers a general reduction of 10%.

That will be interesting for a new Hydraulic harness, which many of us require to buy in the next years:
"Set, hydraulic line with wiring harness" - 54377311084
https://www.leebmann24.de/satz-hydraulikleitung-mit-kabelbaum-z4-54377311084.html

What about shipping and custom fees to the UK? Does that make sense at all?

There will freight, customs handling, duty then VAT on all of that at 20%

Does this fit all variants of roof versions?

Thanks. Then it might be cheaper buying it directly in the UK.

Yes, the current "version" of the harness fits for all Z4 E89.

Well, that is the BREXIT result.
Have it shipped to me and we will meet next spring/summer in Bavaria.

There is a French Z group planning a weekend mid of may here in Munich with about 30 Z's:

That sounds very cost effective! :tumbleweed:

My turn for hall sensor A696 to go west….

Just a big thanks Robbi for posting this thread, saved time googling etc, on its location. :driving:

Is it worth repairing this small tear in the boot seal? I've got a neoprene wetsuit repair kit so could use the black silicone "glue" from this. It's not letting in water.

Needs to be fixed ..it will leak..the seals are prohibitively expensive so a rubber based repair would be good..

Guys,
Why do you place and discuss this specific topic in my maintenance thread?
It's definitely the wrong place. :headbang:
