Looking for a weekend stay in the Lake District in the next month or two... any suggestions? Can't even narrow it down to where abouts because I have never been. Would be nice to take the camera for an outing, but I guess most of the LD is good for that.

All suggestions welcome :)

Spectre - I've stayed at Hipping Hall before prior to the National meet. It's not cheap by any means but it's very nice indeed and the food/wine is superb.

Hello! Z4forum meet..........

LOL... it's for the wife's birthday... not sure how impressed she'd be if I tell her we're having a weekend away, get to the hotel and the car park is full of Z4's?!

Cheers for the suggestions... will take a look... proper LD newbie I am... bit embarrassing considering it's only a couple of hrs away

I've stayed at this one a few times with work and would reccommend it,

I'm trying a different approach... just persuaded her to buy her first BMW. Hoping now she'll get hooked too

Try the Brown Horse Inn Winster about 10 min drive from Windermere
Only been there for a meal myself, which was very good !
Friends have stayed and loved it :)

North or south. There are a few nice hotels around Ullswater most 5 star. Ramsbeck, Inn on the Lake, Leaming house, Sharrow Bay, How town, glenridding hotel.

Sharrow bay has a michelin star restaurant too.

Here is a few

Ullswater is where Kirkston pass is that road leads to windermere, ambleside, kendal and Keswick so its a pretty good place to be

Technically her birthday is on the Friday, so we are going to an eye-wateringly expensive restaurant for dinner that night to make up for the Zs on the Saturday & Sunday... I think Ranski is taking a similar approach on the Saturday :D
