Hot weather problems

007, about that ICBM strike in Spalding. Is there a hold up?

It appears the livestream pictures made it look like it had already hit, so no one authorised it.

No-one here would notice, and nobody else would give a shite TBH.

On holiday with the car and the temp was 39° While driving down the Autobahn - the Dash Cam dropped off its adhesive pad - got to go to Bmw dealer to have it fixed on Monday.

I don’t think my holiday insurance will cover it!

Was there any residue eft behind on the windscreen? If so was it sticky? Same questions for the dashcam mounting point.

There was a clear sticky pad on the windscreen and a thick black sticky pad on the dash cam. Looks like the pad had de laminated.

Would appear that laminate bond has failed, it is possible that the fluid used to clean the screen has caused it to delaminate, but I would say unlikely.

The BMW Garage in Heitersheim sorted it this morning

Cracking good service as well
He said 10.30 and he was on the dot - a new sticky pad fitted and this time there is no oval void between it and the windscreen. I now suspect that the problem has been caused by the heat expanding the void and combined with the softened adhesive etc!!!

€25 - so not too bad.

A 3M double sided sticky pad would have cost you circa a quid. Much as I hate the B'stards, used to work for them, there automotive products are very good, especially the adhesive pads.

The type of heat the car would see should not affect the adhesive.

If I had been at home there wouldn’t have been a problem but I would have had to find a shop, source cleaning fluid etc.

Considering the use of workshop time, even if 10 minutes, I think that is very reasonable and your probelem is sorted whilst on holiday.

As pvr says €25 sounds like a bargain in the circumstances.

Hopefully you won't have any more issues while you enjoy your trip.

It’s been hot and also been parked in the direct sun and it’s still attached.
I süßpect the previous void and reduced contact area was the initial fault.
