Hot tyre pressures

It's quite hot right now, and often when I want to check tyre pressures they are already quite warm, or I forget to do them and am only at a garage after driving for a bit. I know you should really do them cold, but is there a rule of thumb for doing them hot, like 2 or 3 PSI more than cold ?

Also, and I'm sure you know this anyway, the gauge on the garage airline will be miles away from an accurate reading.
