Hot rod racing

Hahha, whatever happened to hotrod racing from the 70’s?
This looks like bags of fun! Barry Lee at the end looks like he could walk straight from the track into a disco in that sequinned, flared race suit! Loool

I remember watching motorcross back in the day with me old fella on Grandstand presented by Dickie Davies.
After the race it would usually be darts or footy. Followed by a few hours razzing round the local park on my Raleigh Chopper.
Happy days.

Bloody brilliant that Chris :D A proper blast from the past. Used to love seeing stuff like that on TV. You used to see Autocross from Brands Hatch and Lydden Hill quite regularly also with Murray Walker commentating.
I'm sure Dickie Davies presented World of Sport, not Grandstand. I used to watch the wrestling late on a Saturday afternoon whilst building with my Lego....I'd already been out on my Chopper earlier in the day, down to Taddy Island on Hesketh Golf Course with my mates. We used to fill our wellies with frog spawn and then jump into them in your bare feet. Simpler times, Happy days

Ur right indeed! It was Frank Bough on Grandstand wasnt it? Presenting the show jumping etc in between snorting a few cheeky lines. hahaha

I bet Dickie Davies had a few snifters during World of Sport while watching Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks knock seven pretend bells out of each other.

Yep and I’ll stand hanging if we didn’t have a better time doing that kind of daft stuff all day than the kids now with their head stuck in a screen getting ‘stressed’ over a face ache post or whatever the shite they look at....

God you lot are so old :P
I remember doing exactly that Chris, watch some motor sport, then out on the chopper pretending I was racing on a track around waste land near us.
I remember going to Brands and Lydden Hill to watch a mate in the rally cross, good times :)
