So, a 5am start for my commute down to London was going swimmingly...right until I started to feel a light vibration about 40 miles from my destination.
Didn't seem to be getting worse, but frequency increase with speed and became heavier with braking.
Got just off the M40 and onto the M25 when I got a red tyre pressure warning light. Nowhere to stop safely so decided to drive carefully to the closest petrol station and check the pressures (which were checked & adjusted the Friday before).
Got to the garage, which luckily had working air line, but immediately noticed the NSF front was caked in brake dust and was very warm to the touch. Tyre pressure was also 5 psi higher than the OSF tyre.
Reset the pressures and the warning light and headed off to do the last few miles to work. Vibration seemed to be getting worse and the car would hold itself on any uphill/downhill bits of road without the need for the handbrake, so decided to take it in to the dealer, who are going to have a look at it today and get back to me.
Sounds like a sticking piston to me - which should be covered by warranty. Any other ideas? Bearing, warped disc, etc.?
Don't forget that it had its latest inspection about 2 weeks ago :x
