Hot Front Wheel after puncture light

Driving along today (MCoupe), the puncture light came on, I stopped checked tyres etc and reset. Drove home slowly a few miles and when I got back the left front brake disc was too hot to touch and smelling. I wasn't driving fast etc and the other front brake / tyre was fine. There also seemed to be some vibration in the cabin. The wheel seems fine and I can't see anything obviously wrong.

Has anyone else encountered any similar issues? I'm going to check the tyre tomorrow and keep an eye on it. It does have a BMW warranty.

The front calipers sticking is a common problem, sounds like it could be the issue.
This happened to me. Burning smell and very hot wheels are the sign. Also you should notice a drop in MPG all are signs of sticking brake calliper.

Unlikely that it will, or if it does it will stick again, if you're under warranty get the dealer to sort it, before you cause any terminal damage to the brake disc, which may not be covered under the warranty.

unlikely to free itself and you could warp your disc in the mean time! either get a new caliper if under warranty or you could get a local garage to strip/clean the caliper. I did this and its been fine for almost a year now. Cost £60 so was worth it.

Thanks for all your help and prompt fault diagnosis.

Car now has a new caliper, front pads and discs paid for by BMW.
