Hose pipe ban ...

Do I remember it right that during the last hose-pipe ban someone reasonably well known (can't remember who) put a bore-hole in his garden, only for the local water board to show up and demand he stop? They reckoned despite him owning the land, the law gives them the region's water table and so any water under your land! The people that run the water companies are so money hungry that they'd be after Bing's flood if they thought it was worth something :)

Latest update today ...

Hose pipe ban would not apply to people over 65 as they are deemed not to be able to lift a bucket / watering can.

So ... new business ventures for OAPs to do car washes with hoses?

I would like to bring your attention to the snippet of information on the united utilities website for the north west:

Hahahahahahahahahahaha........

I love Portsmouth Water Authority as it turns out that we are the only part of the south that doesn't have a hosepipe ban   Having said that,it's chucking it down today

With all the rain lately has there been any movement on the hose pipe ban? On the news it said there was flooding down south... :?

its flooding round here, rained every day since they announced the ban. Rivers at their highest levels since the floods of 2007. Rivers having sluice gates opened to alleviate the pressure into flood plains and the sea . .... and ban still in place, but there again no chance to clean the car as its always raining. We Brits definitely do irony :headbang:

Frickin rain. Last rugby festival of the season tomorrow and it is going to be nasty down here. Hooray :|

On teh plus side - Sundays now free for hooning

I was going to give the zed a second wash this weekend, as I covered a load of miles yest, but thought one pressure wash was enough for the weekend :P
