An interesting watch - horizon yesterday was on research about car crashes/improving car safety
 
Was going to watch this because I work in automotive engineering so find it pretty interesting. My wife doesn't though (work in it, or find it interesting) so I didn't get to watch it :)

its main focus was about the third stage of collision (1. initial impact 2. body to car interior impact 3. internal organs impact body) and how emerging technology will trigger our natural reflexes milliseconds before 1.

indeed - evolution of the crash dummy in understanding how stage 3 kills us is key. Must admit only seen first half so far as I had to leave to go to work (stupid night shifts) so have the second half to look forward too!
