Delivery might be a tad delayed.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-30602326

Worst delivery company ever anyway.

I feel sorry for the employees who may lose their jobs, but the loss of the company apart from that is no bad thing IMO.

There is no shortage of requirements for delivery companies / drivers, so the jobs should not really be an issue.

However, if I was one of the competitors looking to expand I would have to look very careful at the employees I would be interviewing as the lies they generally tell when they state "can not find address", or "nobody home" is shocking.

I've never had a problem with them. Always get a text with my expected delivery time and it's never failed to show up as expected in excellent condition. I get several bottles of whisky from the society every month so not something I can have arrive damaged. If it were yodel then I could see why as they do have a tendency to 'not show up' both for delivery and collections.

I believe that John Lewis use City Link so that'll be interesting.

Utterly terrible that they announced it publicly on xmas day. That'll of been a right downer right there.

They were /are no different to anyone else. UPS, TNT, Parcelforce, Yodel, etc. are all the same in many ways, they lose parcels, hav delayed deliveries, etc. The difference (and problem) with City Link was they were a small player and couldn't compete with the bigger companies.

Used them many many times until a series of blunders over a short period made me realise that whilst inevitable problem's sometimes occur its how they are dealt with that highlights how good or bad a company is 8)
Now use APC through Paisley Freight & the service is far more professional in every department

they are keeping people on to sort out the final deliveries .so no worries with parcels that havnt been delivered

I believe from the reports they will not be delivering them any parcels still at the depots and these need to be collected by either the sender or receiver, not ideal if you've ordered a large item and need to collect it. Plus if you know your out a job handling with care is probably not up there in list of priorities.
