3pointedstar It's not that difficult, only when it's night and your in the clouds and you are really tired does it really suck. You definately have to have your A-game on when taking on gas from another tanker. Here's a pic I took from my office earlier this evening for y'all:
And here was the sun setting into the clouds over Albany, NY this evening from 21,000 feet:
When I was taking that picture out of the right side of the jet while heading south I looked to the left and saw the moon rising from the east:
That reminded me of a Jimmy Buffett song that starts with a poem:
"The sun, red and enormous, began to sink into the western sky,
and simultaneously the moon began to rise from the other side of the river,
with it's own glorious shade of red,
coming up over the trees like a rested fire pit.
My father watched it and I thought he would cry again.
For he had returned to the sea,
and his heart was a lone country heart."

Now those are some beautiful pics AJ! I didn't think photos from inside a plane would turn out so good.
My dad and brother are private pilots (small aircraft), so I grew up loving helping my dad fuel the plane and learning pre-flight checks. I used to beg him to let me tie the plane down, I loved making those knots! If I didn't get into public safety, I would certainly have gotten into aviation - probably mechanical.

My brother is a mechanic now at Delta in ATL, here's what he works on - he was a helicopter mechanic in the Marines, Desert Shield/Desert Storm veteran:
