Hood Lining

The inner roof lining on my roadster seems to be coming away from the outer layer on the passenger side, and as a result it sags a little inside.
It looks like it used to be held on by some long narrow clips that obviously don't work anymore.

Has anyone else had this problem?
I was considering a little dab of superglue on the plastic clips to re-attach to the outer skin as I'm guessing this would cost loads for BMW to fix properly!

Dont recall there being a problem with the Z4, believe there was with the E46 and BMW sold a repair kit. It might be worth contacting them to see if there is such a thing for the Z4

I have the same issue... the first clip on the drivers side is a little broken, so it doesn't clip in properly. Probably some superglue would do I guess? Hasn't really bothered me TBH. I would try dealers first as srhutch suggested.

It dosen't really sag enough to notice it when you look at it, but it does almost catch the top of the rollbar when the roof goes down. I was just worried about it catching and breaking some more of the clips.

I'll keep an eye on it for now, and ask at the dealers when I'm in the area.

My headliner was replaced twice (under warranty) for the very same reason, the plastic bracket separated causing a small sagging on the passenger side (left side for you Brits). Is my understanding that the top has to come off to perform the repair

I think I might give the superglue idea a go then. Sounds like it could be a bit expensive otherwise!

I have a similar issue and shame on me that I have not fixed it correctly yet. iirc there is a small white plastic joiner between the lining and the roof frame and the end of that came off a rivet in the frame. I pushed it on and it remained there for a year and not bothered since when it came loose again. Access was at the edge and gluing would be an easy fix.
