Hood is rubbing on something

Hi there,

Had my car for 6 days now, loving it.

I have notioced some wear on the hood on the drivers side, pic attached. I noticed this on another car I viewed but that one was much worse and effected on both sides. Its obviously catching on something, is there anyway that this can be sorted? Do you think its catching on the rear compartment?

Anyone had similar issues and fixed it? I want to try and get it sorted before it gets worse as I bet a new roof isnt cheap, and my OCD will kick in soon.

Common unfortunately - most cars have some wear marks around that area. I just try to minimise the number of opening and closing operations.
 
Thanks for the reply. Thats a shame, I did suspect that might be the case, wear and tear! I think I will do the same then.
 
I think I remember a post a long time ago where a member was placing a piece of felt or velvet over the fold lines to help minimise wear in this area but it's a real faff getting it to stay in place as it folds. Then you forget about it when opening and it blows away in the wind!
