This is NOT a for sale post.

I’ve had some offers in PMs already (thanks, but not ready for them yet). This post is simply to ask what their value is, rather than touting for a sale.

To help fund my CSL-style intake, I’m going to have to part with some ‘spares’...but have no idea of their worth (I know they’re in demand, but not their value).

Anyone got any opinions on pricing for these (OE, genuine, individual champagne, electric & heated, memory M-seats), in the following scenarios:
  1. in the condition they were taken out of the car (bit dirty, driver’s seat worn more than passenger as you’d expect for 160k miles, but not torn/holed/damaged) [pictures to follow when I can get them back out of the loft, where I put them a couple of weeks ago :headbang: ]
  2. completely cleaned/reconnollised in champagne
I am leaning towards the first option, as it saves both parties money, and then the use as-is/reconnollise/recolour option is up to the new owner.

I’m not going to be offended by any value, as if the suggested value is a couple of hundred, then I’ll keep them and get them reconnolised/retrimmed for when I get fed up of or can’t fit in the Pole Positions (already had one ‘larger’ passenger complain that they were too tight).

Depends on colour? Assume they're Champagne but since they're in the loft? Maybe they didn't come with your car?
Also, heated? Electric? These play a big part as well.

I would advise you to sell them to me, they would go well with my beige interior, so I'm interested

If electric and heated I would say £550 to £650 depending on condition.
Pics would be helpful though when you can..

Black do seem to be commanding a decent price - even 'damaged' :o

If some one pays more than £300 they want their head examined .

From what I understand these are worth a lot more on the continent. Obviously the side switches will be wrong but easily taken off cheaper stock seats.
Selling on eBay.de etc you'll get a good four figure sum if you don't mind shipping or getting the buyer to arrange their own courier...
List them and see how it goes. You'll see by the bidding response....

Depends on how much work you need to put in to them to get them back to there best . Seats only in poor condition 350-500. Good 450 -550 very good 500- 600. If you do the work on them then up to about 800. That’s all based on a market for champagne and you wanting to get rid sooner rather than later. I don’t think it works with a grey car so GLWTS.

Thanks all.

It's only the seats that I'm considering selling.

I will get them out of the loft this weekend and see what they come up like after light cleaning, and will then decide whether it's worth selling them or not.

I'm not worried about the passenger seat, but the driver's seat has had me sitting in it for 150,000 miles, and I've not bothered changing into clean clothes every time I've gone for a drive!

It might actually be the kick-up-the-arse I need to get them retrimmed in 90's style alcantara & cloth...

That’s the way to go. E36 m3 stylee!
e34 M5 stylee to be precise

It's the manual, black version of the silver grey interior I had on mine:

I have no idea of the value of genuine M sport seats for the Z4, but would love some. They're impossible to find here in Thailand, and the nearest ones to me that I've seen were in Japan - they were in excellent condition, power and heated, and sold for the equivalent of around £1200.

I couldn't justify spending that much, plus shipping, plus import tax.

Slightly off topic, but the fabric shown in the previous photos is actually M5 Hurricane

Most designs were offered in both black and grey. All the above have been reproduced to excellent standards and can be found for sale in various places online.

Last year I bought small samples of both the M5 Hurricane and E36 M3 M-cross fabric when I was considering reupholstering some M3 Vaders for my old E36 convertible. I sold the car before I committed to the idea, but I still like the M5 Hurricane design and it would be my first choice if I ever got aftermarket seats such as Recaros and had the centers refinished.
