Morning all,
I’m still on my journey looking for an e86 to love and cherish.. I’ve always had a sit spot for white cars in general but am not too sure about this, personally im not a massive fan of the vents or quad conversion but that can be sorted. Please let me know your thoughts!

MOT history reveals she needs a bit of money spent. Putting large alloy wheels and an aftermarket exhaust on a car rather than prioritizing basic mechanical needs is not good in my book. Go for a convertible and enjoy the sunshine, a good one for half the money can be found.

Gotta be a Coupe...all the way. I personally think you might be better looking for a more original model, the hacked rear bumper looks terrible imop. Good luck with your search.
BTW .....Montego Blue Coupes are the most sort after......best colour without a shadow of a doubt

A well sorted white Z4 coupe is beautiful and rare. This one falls short in the “well sorted” department. The quad conversion looks a bodge and whatever is covering the 3-piece interior trim is terrible. The recent MOT history is poor and I would never trust a “selling for a friend” advert. This looks expensive in context.

However, if you are prepared to put in the effort, this could be the basis of a lovely car.

Thanks all! You’ve helped confirm my initial thoughts. I’ve found another in my preferred colour but the seller has been totally honest and said it needs a new rocker cover gasket - how much could I expect to pay for that and is it worth buying, the at has 141k and full history.
Thanks again,
Russ

Rocker gasket cover can vary depending on what you want to replace (plenty of recent threads on this) , check the MOT history, mileage on a well serviced car isn't usually a problem as the engine n gearbox is very strong. What's the colour?

If you’re set on white this is one of the only options as it’s a rare colour. However it looks a mess to me and you’d be better with the grey example. Welcome to the forumz

A rocker cover gasket is a fairly easy and inexpensive fix if you’re handy with the spanner’s. And to be fair a lot of these cars suffer with this. So don’t let that put you off.
Don’t be fooled thinking you will buy one of these and not have to spend any money on it. If you’re not handy make sure you have a bit of money set by for maintenance jobs.

The Facebook advert now says SOLD......did you buy it R17SKO?

Yes, I did!!

And I have to say I am chuffed, the chap I bought it off was a lovely guy, and sad to see it go.

It's got a few miles but drives superbly, my friend who got an M2 Comp came with me as he's far more adept with cars than I am, he drove it home and said that it was stunning. Two keys plus the plastic one. The rear sensors don't work the driver's cup holder is broken but all things I can sort out.

It has a service 2000 miles ago but I am going to book it in for the rocker cover gasket and I have been told that I may as well get some other gaskets replaced at the same time (you'll have to remind me of which ones), along with a service and good check over.

My initial plans are to detail the paint and interior - the seats are pretty good but I'll give them a good clean and die (can anyone recommend a good product?) When the V5 arrives R17SKO (I used to get called Rusko - my names Russ) will be going on. The fronts are new Kumho's but the rears I have never heard of and look like they're made out of MDF, so I'll probably go Kumho's all round. I'll then get the wheels a refurb and enjoy.

My longer-term plans are to keep the car looking stock-ish, maybe a set of wheels and I'm sure I'll need some suspension at some point.

Thanks again for all the help, looking forward to contributing where I can and picking brains.

Cheers,
Russ
