Homecoming 2008 - - aftermath

I agree with DUcks it seems every Homecoming was better and more fun (& more expensive) than the one before. We also had a great time catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.

I think Sunday we must have spent an hour just saying bye to everyone after lunch, as Bob, Robin Joanna and the rest can attest to.

I was a great day. Time spent with friends is always great.

Robyn really had fun dressing up like pirates on Saturday night. Thank you for sharing you two.

Thank you one and ALL for making my first and perhaps last HC such a memorable and incredible and did I mention FUN time?
Thanks to Bob, Robyn and Rick , Kathy for letting me caravan to HC with them. We made lots of stops and had fun everywhere we journey'd along the way to HC.
So many great folks and so many cars that ALL look alike in the dark! :)

Just got my ROADCAR washed, powered off the dried on bugs and waxed! All ready for the next trip, so where will it be?

Mark and Kathy hope everything was ok at home and for your friends and loved ones too. Kathy, thanks for dressing me up as the Wench! (Did I spell that right?)

Thanks everyone for all the fun times and friendships I hope to keep for years to come!

Keep those tops down!

And don't forget that you are also considered a very good driver by those that observed your "roadcar" skills. It was a pleasure to meet you.
Cheers,
Greg

One aftermath is we are now the proud owners of a gently used 2003 X5. :driving:

Another reason not to cancel Homecoming!

What is BMW thinking? :headbang: :headbang:
True. We got an 07 X5 last December. Influenced a lot by driving one at HC 05 & 06

We needed to replace a workhorse of a Bronco II (Eddie Bauer edition) that gave us 20 years of hard work-driving almost daily, acting as our camping truck and pretty much running down to the river so Lonny could go fishing. The X5 won't be doing much of that, but it could. The big ole F150 Lariat is just too bad on gas mileage right now and is now mainly used to tow the camper.

I just don't get it X5 X6 or any off roader!
it spends all its life on tarmac roads uses a sh#t load of gas so whats the point. :headbang:
unless you need to go off road buy a car!!!!!

We needed something to transport our son's large upright bass. It just doesn't fit into a car. Otherwise, I prefer cars too.

I like cars, he likes trucks and we buy what we want. We also get the rare snowstorm and don't have all the equipment to clear down here in the SE they do in the North so it will be used at those times as well. The Z will stay at home

This one will get it's tires dirty, just probably not as dirty as the Bronco II did.

I feel your pain...

My son also plays the upright bass and the electric bass, and the soprano sax and the piano ect... When he graduates next year, he will be a music Teacher. For his early collage graduation present, we decided to get rid of his POS Chevy and get a newer vehicle. The only requirement was that his bass would fit in the back. Since the bass cost me $2500 his first year of collage, it HAS to be protected.... So we found a Ford Explorer Sport. It only gets 23MPG but he can transport all his instruments...
