Afterward, a daytrip to Hendersonville, NC with light shopping. Great driving except until getting back to Greenville - got lost for a while, long while - didn't shoot the navigator - still married! - mapquest is confusing - will be looking to see what kind of navsystem others are using - must have for next year!

5 pm just now and raining. Should not last long. Glad I didn't wash the Ccar!

Tomorrow, Thursday, is the big arrival day with most people staying at the host hotel, Embassy Suites.

Wish everyone a safe trip!

More pics to follow!!!

Best!
Jack

Posting from the Hotel courtesy "business" computer, so can't post the pics I have. There are a ton of beautiful Z3's and Z4's parked here, a sea of Z's. Met a few of our forum members and having a great time. Tomorrow is the Performance Driving Event and will give updates afterwards.

Fire-n-Ice graced our presence earlier on her way through to a family event, sure that one of our members will post the group pic we took :)

Cheers!

Well, FINALLY caught up with Caddyshak and Rabman today!! The Performance Driving this morning was awesome!! Got to do a slalom course in 3.0's and was really amazed at how well the front sticks when tossing the car side-to-side
The autocross section was also in 3.0's and was fun, I ended up less than a second off the top run of the morning. Not too bad considering it was my first time ever to try autocross
The "Rat Race" was in //M's :D , and I won all 3 of my races. Consists of 2 cars running on a small oval course with water on it. Cars start at opposite sides of the track and you try to catch up to the other car. Plenty of sideways fun, and I got to practice my throttle control without worrying about spinning it completely (which I didn't). It is great to have an area where you can test the car and drivers limits without worrying about wrecking.
The "Drag Strip" section was a joke. Running automatic 3.0's  I drive my //M on the drag strip at Atlanta Motor Speedway, and was hoping to learn something useful here. Every car trapped at 73 mph and since they were autos, there was no skill involved. Oh, well, guess I will just have to practice at AMS a little more on my own.
I passed on driving the 335i's on the skid pad (waiting line was too long) and also passed on drivng the X5 course. The X5 is a great vehicle for off-road, but I like speed and handling on a road, so I really had no interest in it.
The vendor fair turned out to be expensive, , since I saw a few goodies that I did not pass up. Got a Dinan strut bar, the LeatherZ armrest for the center console and the underseat "First Aid" box (they are not available over here from the dealer). I will have pictures of all the goodies on Monday

Cheers!

Thanks from the sidelines!!

For those of us far too far away to even consider attending it's nice to be able to follow along with some of the experiences of those who could.
