Home made intake scoop

I've finished the overall design on the fiberglass version. I'll be smoothing it out and painting it today. Should have pictures up tonight.

Me thinks there may be a group buy fluttering in the air somewhere on this forum.

I'd be willing to entertain the idea of a group buy. I just finished painting the prototype. It took a lot longer than I originally intended because I took a fwe extra steps with mine and added bondo over the entire thing so that it would hide the fiberglass look.

Why don't you use colour flow coat and then sand it? Would be a much better finish.

Well I still wanted to have a glossy finish on the scoop I made for my own car. For the ones I'm selling the finish will be black resin sanded down to a matte finish. Unless I can find a way to have both sides dry with the glass finish.

Flow coat or gelcoat gives a solid shinny finish that will make the fibre glass waterproof. Its worth looking into, you can get it in loads of colours.

It will be better in the long run and give you a OEM finish. I look forward to seeing what they look like
