Holiday tips - Majorca

Hello all
I've been a bit quiet of late so apologies for being antisocial. Desperate for some sunshine so booked a few nights in Majorca in early June, got a good deal. I'm hoping it'll be too early for the general masses then so possibly peaceful. Any tips or advice on what to do or see? Going with Mike and my parents.

if you're in the south (most are) the capital Palma is worth a visit.

If you're close to Palma anyway take the train to Soller. http://trendesoller.com/en/ lovely day out, take lunch at the quay side in Soller

IN the north Porto Pollensa is lovely and the tiny village of Pollensa too

theres also some sort of castle/church in the middle but I can't remember its name - make fantastic Gluten Free Almond cake
 
Visited on HMS Illustrious years ago. Based in Palma but never went into the town. Spent a week cycling around the Hills, fantastic place on a push bike. :wink: The North coast has some spectacular views. Also peddled out to the Church mentioned above, recall that was quite a nice place too. All a long time ago though Ruby, will no doubt have changed from my memorise. Have a great trip. :)
 
Palma is fantastic. A real treat especially out of the tourist season you can waste a week there easily....! Also... Puerto Pollensa and Andtratx very appealing seaside places. Monastery a Lluc up in the mountains very peaceful, beautiful drive up there from Pollensa. Puerto de Soller worth a visit for the trams and the old town.
 
Take a trip up to valldemossa in the mountains. 13th Century Monastery and gardens and is a lovely little village

...aye buzy lar, you'd be hard-pressed to find penny farthing's to rent out there these days... :P

...aye buzy lar, you'd be hard-pressed to find penny farthing's to rent out there these days... :P

Fortunately I had my Harry Quinn on board, when the skipper parked the ship there. :P
