Holiday in Florida Booking Advise Please

Looking to book two weeks in Florida Next August.

I know which Hotel and when exactly I went to go. BA on-line is cheapest, Virgin most expensive with Thomas Cook and Thomson just above BA although you can't book attractions at the same time so not covered by ABTA.

I phoned my local Virgin shop and they have offered to match BA, but I cant get any more out of them and also think if they can knock 10% off just like that but not offer anything over BA then do I really want to give them the business. Can't seem to find a number for BA so guessing the on-line price is the price you pay. Thomas Cook again say price on-line is best price and no budging.

I'm going to call a local agent tomorrow and give them the details and ask for their very best price.

But do any of you know of any other companies I can try, or any other tricks I can try?
 
Dial-A-Flight got me about 10% off my BA tickets to NY last year. Could not match it anywhere and even though I have gazillions of BA miles, I can never use them for flights :x
 
I went into Thomson, got a price then walked up the other way into Thomas cook and they beat it by loads, upgraded to premium seats too. :thumbsup:

When was this as a matter of interest and how did it compare to their prices on-line?
 
Depending on your commitments in terms of how much notice you need to give for holidays etc my advice would be to look at last minute offers nearer the time he you're looking for the best price. For example - my girlfriend and I browsed for Florida a couple of weeks back for end of September (so about 3 to 4 weeks in advance) and some of the prices for the better hotels were down from £1300 to £575 per person with Thomson and Thomas cook (that's flight, hotel and car hire)

I appreciate you won't get those types of prices/ reductions for august but you will still get plenty of last minute deals if you're prepared/ able to hold out, much more difficult with a family/ more people of course.

I know what your saying, but our hotel wishlist leaves little room for choice (excuse the pun) so need to book in advance.
 
Ah ok, just to add, ba charge an additional fee if you book by phone anyway, I travel a lot with them (well flights anyway).

Quite happy to give you the details for regular ba sales etc but that only covers flights so won't work if you want a complete package. Whatever you find, have a good trip, we're currently due a long overdue return visit but dates didn't fit for us to go this month in the end.

Hopefully early next year.
