For the last 6/7 years we've taken 2 weeks in the Canaries in autumn & always hire a car for airport pick up & return .
Just booked this morning for 14 days Renault Twingo for 127euros incl taxes+ins :o that's cheaper than a taxi for both ways & from memory is less than half what it was the first couple of times :?
Autoreisen is the company for anyone looking for the same . Used them each time & always easy to deal with & to date have never tried any dirty tricks to claw back any monies

That's very good and as you have used them before, you shouldn't get your shorts taken down for extras. Normally when you arrive at the desk (after waiting for ages in a queue) you are then bombarded with this extra and that, which your sure you had already paid for :headbang:

The 1 I got caught with was during a 4 day hire, out of season, in Corfu. We arrived about 8.00 pm having travelled all day, via Athens, to be hit with a charge for a full tank of fuel, before we were allowed the keys. Over 4 days, the chances of me using 1/4 tank were unlikely and of course, there was no refund for unused fuel. Also, have no clue how they got so many litres in a Suzuki Swift. They certainly charged me for far more than they could have got in the tank.

No amount of pleading would get me the car without paying the money so I did. When we got back to the UK I contacted the agent we booked the car hire with, who couldn't give a toss. Never used them again.

I actually use Hertz or Avis these days. They are a little more expensive but it's worth it for the infrastructure and national network
