Holiday Booking Time :)

Thanks to the demise of Thomas Cook we can't go to our favourite Greek annual getaway to Thassos this year - we've been going for over 20 consecutive years :( perhaps it's time for a change anyway - instead of spending two weeks on a Greek sandy beach languishing on a sunbed and occasionally struggling up to get to a taverna and drink copious amounts of Mythos we will be off to .........................Kefalonia to do the same thing

If you like it that much try an independent travel agent, although a change is as good as a rest 😁🍺🏖
My wife and I went there last year and I must say it is a beautiful island

Why not book your own flights and Hotels ?

Your 20 years of knowledge and experience of the region must be an asset - phone the hotel direct and see what sort of a deal can be done.

Yes we used to go independent - flights with Thomas Cook were around £300 for two - the only other UK airline that goes to Kavala ( en route Thassos ) is now TUI who want nearly £1000 for flights only - could still go with a TUI package deal which would prove the best value but then we wouldn't be staying with our usual Greek friends :( TUI are exploiting the demise of TC

That’s a huge difference in flight costs - it certainly smacks of exploitation

A cynic may suggest that's the reason Thomas Cook have gone and TUI are still here?
Granted £1k for flights is steep, but maybe £300 was too low?

If you can take the flight time try Mexico
I've been for many years and all Inclusive, hotel, flights etc has ranged from £500 to £2000 per person from 7days to 15 days, some of that in school holidays.
