Holed roof lining

Hi,

I have a very minor tear in the inner hood lining. It has been there ever since I bought the car,
It is about two inches long and the width of a biro, :lol:

It is well hidden behind the passenger head restraint but I would like to fix it. Has anyone got any
thoughts or experience in this repair? Its slightly elastic so I presume only a patch could do it?

I have searched before you yell, Oh and I spoke to BMW who just laughed!

They all popped there head round various corners and were pointing and laughing!!! It wasnt quite that bad but you get my drift.
Thanks for the website, il look into it, In my minds eye I imagined id have to get a swatch of lining from somewhere, fashion it into a patch and hot glue it in place! That just seems daft now!

Mate of mine has a Range Rover and has had several tears in the roof lining from various bits of equipment put in the back. Went to the local dealer and apparently it's a common problem. They got the repairs done through an agent - can't see it unless you look really hard. Perhaps worth a visit to you local RR dealer.

Sorry for hijacking this thread..still on the topic of headlining at least.
Pushing the headlining just behind my head generates a squeaking noise, mainly from the right and left sides. This noise happens then going over bumps etc. I explained this to my dealer showing them where the noise was coming from. 1st time in, they lubricated the seals. I told them the problem was in the headlining and true enough the squeak was still there.

2nd time they adjusted the roll bars. Again I told them the problem was in the headlining and true enough the squeak was still there.

3rd time, just out of warranty they said the problem was in the headlining, will cost to fix :x

I'm pretty sure they will honour the fact it was a known problem under warranty not fixed but wondering have others experienced this and have a fix that avoids the hassles of going back to the dealer.
