Hole in wind deflector

Just wondering if anyone has had one retrimmed or anything. I have a hole in my wind deflector the size of a cigarette burn (previous owner).
Just seems a shame to have to buy another but it's bugging me to death

Someone did manage to 'retrim' the wind deflector by dismantling it and re-attaching a new length of mesh. Can't remember who it was but it should come up somewhere on the search function.

If it's a defect, you can try to patch it up with plastic ...

when I first got my Z4, one corner of the mesh had come out of the frame (not ripped fortunately). I was able to carefully pull the rubber trim out, stretch the mesh and refit the trim. Without having tested it, I'm guessing the whole rubber trim comes out, so you could fit a replacement mesh?
