Hoffmeister kink

No, it's not some reference to a porno version of Baywatch.

The sales guy was showing me that the new Z4 has the fames "Hoffmeister kink". Apparently this is the shape at the back of the rear windows, a feature of nearly all BMW's but not the previous Z4.

Exciting, eh?

Very interesting!

As seen above (highlighted in blue) in the BMW 1500 launched in 1961, the kink describes the bend at the C-Pillar (rear pillar), representing a turn in the window lines that one may have expected to flow smoothly towards the rear.
