Hockey fans

Ahhh... the good old days... watching Fuhr, along with Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, and all the rest of the greats all in one team that made Edmonton the City of Champions.

Too bad it ain't like it was anymore.

Yep.
My three kids all play hockey.
Oldest son was a goalie. He is a Devil's fan too and likes #30.
My younger son plays defense and wears #4. He's an Avalanche fan (?) but he's smart enough to idolize Scott Stevens.
My daughter is a Ducks fan and plays forward. She wear's #22 after Dad's # (and I already told you who my favorite player was)!

Yep hockey is a great sport! And it's almost playoff time! If only the Devils would start scoring...

...but to describe his style as falling on the ice and hoping the puck would hit him is a bit exagerated. :o

Can't say that I remember Alan Bester. :idunno:

Btw, what's all the fuss about Grant Fuhr? The Grant Fuhr I remember with the Oilers was giving six goals in a 8-6 win by the Oilers. Sure, he had his moments but every goalie who ever played in the league had their moments. Overall, I'm sure that his stats are worse than Patrick Roy.

Just look at the # of Stanley Cups, baby! (Fuhr 5, Roy 4) I also will always remember how well Fuhr represented Canada in the Canada Cup. Watching Fuhr was watching a truly skilled, acrobatic goaltender in action. His speed and reflexes were unbelieveable.

Roy on the other hand, was just a big ogre flopping around the net doing the butterfly, half the time unaware of where the puck was.

You make some interesting observations but they are more fanatical than based on real facts. Like I said, Grant Fuhr had his moments but if we are to follow your logic Kevin Lowe (5 Cups) would have to be considered a better defenseman than
Bobby Orr (2 Cups). :o Grant Fuhr was a player on his team while Patrick Roy was the main man. Anyway, this kind of discussion never gets resolved.

Cheers. :)

Here is a fantastic video to get you in the mood for the playoffs!

Trust me this is a good one!

Couldn't agree more. I would be hard pressed to find arguments against the claim that Martin Brodeur is the best goalie ever.

Cheers.

Darn! The Devil's lost their 5th straight!!!! :headbang:
What is going on??? This is their longest losing streak since Nov, 2000!
:x

What? Really? That's awesome.

I guess it's awesome that they haven't lost that many since then...
But it kind of sucks to go from 1st in the conference to 5th in 5 games! This is not the time of year to slump!
oh well...looks like it might be NJ vs OTT in the first round...hopefully they can get revenge for last year!

Well, Roy did a punk thing to their goalie and giving the finger to the fans shows real class..

As long as everyone is showing hockey pics, went to Ottawa last night vs Buffalo and took some pics of Brian Lee who played in Bingo all season to recent call-up to the big club..

Here he is getting some tips from Heater..

Buffalo gave five late-game goals to Ottawa :( and tonight they were leading Montreal 3-1 with 2:30 to go. What do you know? They gave two goals to go in overtime and then lost in overtime. They are running out of steam. Lucky for us it gave the Habs a win even after a less than brilliant performance.

Hey if you guys are bored, go to YouTube and look up hockey fights. The "KO compilations" video is a good one.
The "Goalie Fights" video is absolutely nuts! There are some great ones in there! you won't be disappointed!
:D

Geez, Ski. Great seats! Unfortunately, one has to take out a mortgage to get similar seats to a Toronto Maple Leafs game.
