hmmmm..tiny splatters of oil in engine bay?

weather was so nice today ( 25 deg C but hugely muggy) i HAD to get the old girl out for a good run, so did a good couple of hours, let the car warm thoroughly as usual , definitely drove the car to redline a couple times, one particular section thats high speed and high load corners, when i get home i noticed small oil spots around 6 in total (so not much but still not something I'm used to seeing in this car so it was noticed immediately) on the driver side suspension turret under side curved piece with the stamped number, pretty much adjacent to the oil cap....

the engine and block are totally dry of oil and none of the surround pieces that would show oil splatters really easily had anything were clean just these few spots as above. So it looks like this small amount of spray has come from the oil filler cap at high revs / high cornering loads, yet this appear dry too ( obviously i understand under high loads things can move alittle) just wondering if anyone has encounter such things in their cars? the car has just clicked 12200 miles ... i will monitor and maybe look at getting a new oil cap as preventative as this is the only place it could have come from, it was definitely engine oil too.... I thoroughly checked the side of the block where the gaskets are, all bone dry and super clean as you'd expect of a 12k mile motor.

On a side note the car is feeling in rude health and had a lovely day blatting the back lanes of Staffordshire, the fiesta ST has got to be one of the best handling cars I've ever driven so really enjoying jumping between the two and experiencing the differences in the way they do things.
 
Sure you've checked but the bolt I've circled below can come loose, it's below that rubber electrical connector. In my case it was weeping slightly on track, nipped it up and all has been fine since. Certainly near the front driver strut so worth checking if you haven't already.
 
There's another bolt further forward on the block, same side, slightly lower down, that the same thing happens to. Srhutch posted a thread on it, I'll see if I can find it...

i checked for sure, this location is bone dry and all looking very new and shiny. cheers for that however i just popped out for a peak...
pretty certain its come from the cap so like ill say, ill monitor and replace if need be, the car hasn't been used in a while so maybe the workout caused a weird anomaly ...
 
Not sure if relevant but I had a 360 deg spin once in my 3.0si (don't ask) and had the same oil splatters. The reason I mention it is you say you had the car under high load in corners and a spin replicates this loading. Had no other issues after that one incident. Obviously it wasn't in an M but I reckoned it was the oil cap as well at the time.

think it was something similar , high temps, very high loads etc, was literally 5-7 small spots of mist, so ill keep an eye on the area and replace the cap if it happens again, but ill wager it probably won't, i removed and cleaned the seal.

on a side note the cornering speeds in the dry with semi slicks and proper suspension are scary. 3rd gear just pulls into oblivion! i LOVe itttt!
