Hmmm what's my car worth ?

Hello everyone

I've just listed up my 1999 Z3 2.8i for sale on the forum here. Question is though, what is it worth. .?

It's full electric and leather with 86,000 miles

I'm only after a rough guide, thanks all :)

Hi and welcome. You might be better off asking the folks over at zroadster.net. A lot mor Z3 owners over there.

Lovely car - the best model - at one time I preferred this shape to the Z4 - ahead of it's time when it first came out . BMW spoiled it all by producing the 1.9 basic model that was sooooooooooooooooooo slow :( This 2.8 model is by far the best overall engine - I've driven one and it felt as fast as my current 3.0SE - a bit less refined but as a sports car may be this is a good thing. As regards price it all depends on originality of condition , service history etc. My research showed that there were common rust issues with boot lid etc and strange corrosion issues around the wing mirrors - your's looks the biz in the picture - if this is backed up by condition , history and not owned previously by 15 owners then someone who wants a 2.8 Z3 should be prepared to part with £5k for a top car.

You'll always pay more for a good honest original car - its never worth differing over £500 or so when you won't find another one in the same condition.

I sold my 2001 facelift Z3 2.2 just over 2 years ago for £3,750. Had about 67k miles on it. Nice overall condition, electric seats, CD changer (and tape deck!!) clear light pack. Only manual hood (but lined as facelift car) and some slight paint bubbling starting on the sills. Unless prices are starting to go up due to classic status (which the car does deserve imho) then £4.5k might be a little optimistic. I could have got more for my car but I have always been the same when selling cars - I'd rather drop the price by a couple of hundred quid and sell to the first viewer than clart on for weeks trying to squeeze the best price out of someone.

GLWTS anyway mate they are great looking cars with a cool retro theme and a very engaging drive too (I found my Z4 a bit too comfortable, quiet and 'wallowy' at first having come from the Z3!). :driving:

I traded a 1999 1.9 very clean and full history, with 135k on the clock two years ago for the Z4. The garage gave me £2200.00 as a trade in which I was happy with. You should get a good price. Good luck.
