Hit and Run

OMG i've only just noticed this one, i'm having a catch up on a rare day off.
i'm a 28 year old guy with my 3 month old son sitting on my lap (mine and my wife of 1.5 years first) and the feelings thundering through me after reading what these two pieces of scum have done to you and your family are unbelievable. I'm amazed how you've managed to stay in control and not hunt them down, i don't know if I could.

Our families thoughts are with you at this time.
 
Another set back..been moved back to intensive care from the High dependancy unit..hes developed pneumonia :( This is getting us all down..full of hope one min and then ......
 
Horrible for you. One minute up then a step back again but like Nick says, he has youth on his side. I'm sure he's having the best care and he has his familiy's love and support around him.
Stay strong for him.

Not uncommon to get a chest infection while on a ventilator, he is young so this set back should be short lived. Remember its just the drugs that are making him unresponsive - once they are switched off he will be back to how he was when he was improving.

Intensive care/High dependency are very scary places to see your loved one but all those horrible lines and tubes are there for good reasons. I hope the drs and nurses are keeping you informed as much as you want - if not, just ask them - we are always happy to be asked.

As Nick has said, chest infections are common in trauma, especially if ventilated. If he's gone back into ITU it just means he needs closer observation. He may need to be ventilated again but that doesn't mean that his neurological recovery will be affected once he's over this set back.

I'm sorry that you are having such a dreadful time, have faith in his strength and that he is in the best of hands.
 
I hope the collective concern and best wishes from the forum members is helping you to stay strong. As others have said already, I'm sure Haydn is getting the very best care possible. That and the support and love of his family will give him the very best chance of a speedy recovery.
 
Hi Hunter, just catching up on this after getting back from my biz trip. Keep strong for your son, it'll all come good with time and care. Fingers crossed for him and you're all in my thoughts.
 
Went to see my son today...he was sat up and recognised me...then he even managed a smile..still cant talk...but its progress....AWSOME!!!!
 
Just seen this. s**t, thats awful to have to go through and my thoughts are with you and your family Hunter. So pleased to hear the latest on your son and hope he makes a speedy recovery. They need to throw the book at the two responsible.
