Historic Formula One

Love your pics ..
Just a guess ...From 1973 ?
Do the 6 wheel Tyrells ever get aired out on the track ?

Think I saw both of those at Mosport.
You lads ever get to see any of the Can Am Cars ?
UOP Shadow, McLarens, or the Donahue Porsche !
Now those unliumiteds shook the ground when they went by.
If you were lucky to see them, then you would never forget !

Loved the 1988 Mclaren MP4/4. Awesome machine

Go to the Silverstone Classic in a week or two's time. They'll be racing there, a fantastic sight.

I've got a client who races in the Historic GP series... proper, hair-chested race cars with none of the safety features of today's F1 cars.... :D

I normally marshal at some of the historic races (HSCC, VSCC, Oulton Gold Cup, Donington SeeRed, etc.), but the entries have been dwindling and I've started to find them a bit boring (i.e. when you have an entry list of 12 for a 60 minute race, that ends up being 6 because of the weather or something).

There's also the issue that there are more & more of these events popping up (some even on the same weekends), and obviously the cars can't turn up to both.

I'd like to see the organisers talk to each other a bit more so that we get proper sized grids/entries again, but I don't think they will as they want their cash & don't want to share it with anyone else.

Although I really wince when I see some of the drivers not wearing seatbelts (not compulsory in some classes - and actually safer to be thrown out in others).
