Good to hear :) - how do you know the fuel pump is on the way out?

I can hear it.. worse when I have a full tank. Sounds like a whining / whirring noise coming from the back of the car whilst running but stationary.
Diff I can hear worse at about 30MPH similar noise but fluctuates with speed and cornering.

Hey coupedan - when I bought my first 2 litre I thought the diff had a problem - turned out to be a rear wheel bearing. The point is the wheel bearing noise was nothing like any wheel bearing noise I'd ever heard before - I was convinced it had to be the diff. It went back 3 times to the garage I bought if from before it went to a specialist who diagnosed and fixed it.

Just a thought and in case there was a chance. I hope it is as straightforward (no fingers crossed emoji available)

All the best with your coupe.

2006 (56) 3.0si Coupe
Daily driven and is now on just over 116k - bought it on 40k back in 2013.

Wow - that is some motoring well done

I've had my Coupe for 26 months and gone from 44,000 to it's current 67,000. It is my daily driver but in reality as I work from home it tends to be used for three or four days per week at most.

I admit to occasionally thinking about selling it but I genuinely don't know what I'd replace it with. My indecisiveness is not helped by frequently having passers by commenting on what a nice looking car and I then think I must be mad to even think of selling it. The other thing is that it has proved to be supremely reliable needing just servicing and tyres.

Currently on 156,000
2.5i se Eibach pro springs, zhp gear knob, Stubby and debadged

I just recalled this thread from last year - proper mileage!

Certainly made me feel much more confident about longevity!

Well someone out there has clocked up over 200k (saw this on auto trader).

Thanks for that Paul, I'm sure it is the diff though as the noise doesn't change under load (Around corners) but is speed related.
I don't want to curse anything just yet, however the noise has been persistent for a good 20k miles or so and nothing has changed (Just something I have learned to live with)

Seems like a tidy car too - not sure I'd take it on with 200k on the clock. I'm sure you'd struggle to move it on.

174k on my 3.0 SE. Engine still sweet as a nut! More than can be said about the roof motor though :x Been following the threads on how to remove without taking out the roof. Got the motor casing wiggling around like my six year olds front tooth but just can't get the bugger out!
