Highbeams

I've got a 2003 e85. Highbeams work when I pull the lever towards the driver but don't come on when I push towards dash. Any solution to this?

I would take the stalk switch off and take a look at the contacts in there for the high beam and see whats going on with them, maybe dirty or out of alignment also explore the relay for the high beam on the fuse board, check that first before exploring the stalk switch.

Do you have Xenon headlights? If so, the "high beams" (which is a halogen H7 bulb) is only used for flash to pass. The actual high beam function is performed by the Xenon, as they do both the low and high beam function.

I'm having the same problem with my 2005 2.5i. In my case, the previous owner took out the OEM headlight assemblies and replaced them with OEMassive aftermarket assemblies and they weren't wired up quite right. However, I don't know if that's the reason the forward switch brights aren't working.

I didn't know that there was a separate breaker for the forward (constant) brights vs the pull/momentary brights. Can somebody confirm this is actually the case?

Because I didn't have the original ones installed in my car, I didn't understand that the flash to pass function is a separate bulb/lens, a halogen H7, and that's all that bulb is used for. Putting the lever in constant position therefore won't do anything. In other words, there's nothing wrong with the stalk.
