High speed window issue

On my way back from the German Zed4 meet on Saturday. I ran my Zed up to max speed on the unrestricted autobahn. At an indicated 140-145 MPH. My drivers side window pulled away from the clips/guides that holds the glass against the seal. Anyone else have this issue?

we can't do those types of speed here in england,if we did we would incure the roth of the rozzers :o :o

All cars fall apart at maximum speed. Otherwise it wouldn't be the maximum speed.

I wasn't the only one going fast on Saturday. Because of traffic I had a V8 tdi touareg in front of me. When traffic cleared I ran mine to the speed limiter. That dammed VW suv pulled away from me. I certainly lost a lot of respect for my Zed at that point. Not only is it hard work beating a golf GTI from a standing start. I couldn't keep up with an suv that is the shape of a brick. I hate to say it. But. Even though I like my zed. The longer I own it. The more I realize that it was (is) an over priced under achiever. At least it looks good. Just wish it went as well as the looks would suggest.

MrPT. Not quite true with the BMW's. Because BMW corp. are wankers. They artificially limit the speed to 155MPH. Doesn't matter if one even has an M3. The M3 just gets to 155 faster than a Zed.

Never had the problem at an indicated 160mph on the autobahns, nor at slightly slower speeds on the Welsh autobaaaaaaaans.

I might just have a poke around those clips and see if they can be "adjusted". I really don't go that fast very often. Most of the time I stick around 100MPH and I'm fine. A few times I've pushed to 120.

Went out to the garage. Boy do I feel stupid. Not a clip to be found. But. When sat in the car. I can push on the window and it comes out of the groove in the rubber seal. The passenger side doesn't do that. I take it that I might need a new window rubber then. Oh! Oh! Yet more money.

I had wind noise at 145mph on the drivers side and adjusted the window using the adjuster under the tab on the bottom of the door. This didn't fully stop it so I also adjusted the door catch and now everything is much quieter. You can check the clamp by taking the door handle off (there's a how to).

The only problem is the nice weather we've had. At 135 mph roof down there is quit a bit of noise and I'm not sure that any amount of window adjustment will sort that out!! \

hmm i get a lot of noice from my drivers window! are you saying that i can adjust it?

Did 159 in my Carlton once the windows were ok but the doors were shaking like hell- then the crank made a funny noise.
