High sitting wipers

Hi guys, I've got a 3.0i 2003 and I think the wipers rest too high on the windscreen. I don't have a picture at the moment but its like they've stopped in the wrong place. When I'm doing over 85mph (on private roads of course) and use them they stop even higher up the window. Anyone had this issue and found a solution. I don't want to pull them too hard and break them. Only reason it annoys me is because I'm only 5'9 and have the seat in the lowest position so they block my view a bit. TIA

the cure is to take the plastic scuttle off after removing the wiper arms. Once the scuttle cover is off take the entire wiper unit out, two bolts/nuts and one central plastic clip, disconnect the wiring and lift the unit out. Turn it over and take the six bolts out of the cover plate to reveal the electrical contact plate which you will find is contaminated by grease that has migrated over it from the gear drive you can see. Clean all the grease off the contact plate and the contacts with electrical cleaner spray. Put it all back together and test once you have positioned the arms in the correct place, worth running the wipers without the arm on at first switching off so they park where they should be. Then fit the arms and blades in the desired parked position, Test again to check where they park, should have solved your problem.

Just realised they don't go back down when I stop the car. I'll probably take them apart using that guide and see what I find
