Ha! Only joking; that's from my old E36 Coupe M52 2.5i which still had compression within factory tolerances before it was side-swiped and totalled! Sold it for Eu500 and I believe it has now been rebuilt and lives on as a drift-monster.
Up to 147k on my E85 3.0i and still pulls like a train, albeit with a few rattles and squeaks!
It is common to see these cars for sale with 100k plus miles on them here. The price is lower which may make them appealing to entry level buyers. I try to buy used with low miles although finding a German car with the right options and the low miles can be a almost impossible. I bought the Zed with 63k on her. She has been dealer maintained and runs great. I just picked another German car with 46k on it. Leads me to think it's not the miles but the maintenance that matters most. Happy Zedding.
My 2003 3.0i tripped over 130k yesterday on a run to the south of France. 450 roof down miles yesterday to reach the Med on day 2. You’d never guess it done this many miles from how it pulls.
Just turned 120k. Only issues i've had is radiator reservoir pipe split (common problem) and alternator recently failed. Oh...and of coarse a rear spring. Still on orginal clutch, dmf and no major work to engine either.
I've changed various bits though as a preventative measures & upgrades, because she's a keeper (££££)
Just bought it, 118k miles on it, works like a charm, has a great previous ownership history, I got the whole book of service history with it. When I asked what to look for in terms of maintenance, they said just look out for cooling, change pipes and radiator and you are ok for next 60k miles, so the previous owner changed the radiator and cooling fluid, and I will change the pipes after my vacation in Tuscany with this baby.
Mine was on 155k when i sold it. needed an alternator, new brake lines, couple of coils and a MAF sensor in the couple of years i owned it, but nothing too bad really. Engine was solid, and wasn't using any oil, despite mostly track usage.
