HiFi system, can I upgrade to Carver?

Hi, I have an 03 Z4 2.5i with the HiFi 10 speaker system. Will the Carver amp plug and play with my system or is there more to it such as totally different speakers and connector?

The sub woofer output for carvers is very peculiar - it could likely fry the OEM speakers. Now if you were to swap in carver subs as well... Still not quite there? The interface between head unit and amp is totally different, though the connectors may be compatible. No idea how the head unit knows which interface to use. Is it auto-detect? Some jumper setting? No idea. I know the CD changer interface is totally different too. I'm pretty sure the rest of the speakers are the same in both systems though.

Even if there were complete compatibility, IMO it's not worth the added cost for the slight gain in sound quality.
