Always thought it's a little bit paranoid to rub your number plate out on Forum Photos. Don't do it with photos of my own cars.

I'm already a little embarrassed driving round with a plate that came with the car that spells out to read HOTY... so would like to think no one's stupid enough to clone it, though u never know
 
I noticed a car, when a load of dodgy characters climbed out, that had its number plates covered by a second set with velcro.
Later told by an ex copper, thats whats done when they go out to nick fuel by driving off.
 
On bmw used car website the do show the reg. But each garage hide the plates.

I only hid my latest, for the reason of cloning.

Going to get a forum sticker in case erm some one get a speeding ticket and clones the car, love that idea.

One of my pet hates is people messing with plates to make them look cool
 
There is also a simple method of obtaining the name and address of the registered keeper from DVLA (which is best not advertised).
Once you have the name/address from the plate details, combine them with 192.com and Findmypast.com you will have the full name, date of birth, address, place of birth, mothers maiden name, fathers name, and with a tiny bit of intuition on Findmypast probably marriage details, spouse details and children's details as well. About 20 mins tops. All legal and freely available.

Post your plate by all means but probably best not to as once the above is 'out there' YOU are potentially cloned never mind a number plate :|
