They are the same extended lighting package..you have the extended storage option as well…

The red light is chromatic aberration..the bright white light is reflecting internally within the camera lens system creating an artefact …often referred to as lens flare..example in an expensive camera here..

Just noticed the red light only stays on for around 10 seconds but the white light stays on. When I now open the door only the white light comes on no red light, same when I lock and unlock the car. I wonder if the car has to be locked for a while then unlocked before the red light works?

Just checked mine, they are located where Johns are and only the white light comes on but there is a second hole above which could be for a red light.

In all honesty, when the seats are back they are pretty useless where they are

On mine there are two holes, the white light is in the bottom one but nothing switches on in the top hole that I can see but it is in the exact location of the red light in John's car

Neither the light circuits in real.oem nor any electrical circuits in newTIS show any other light on that trim piece accept the white LED that is seen on the ‘extended lights’ option …nor has that module or trim piece changed over time or with different models..

If it does exist then it must be associated with some aftermarket device..

You had to ask - I had to look :rofl:

Mine has the Comfort package (Z4K) so by default the Extended lighting (563) and Storage compartment package (493).

But unfortunately no red light only the white one :headbang:

Very weird as now I can’t get the red light on only the white one….
