Hidden Features etc.

I've just been for an evening drive and...sauntered down a few country lanes. I'm coming up to a year of ownership now, and it's the first car that puts a smile on my face every time I get in. Usually I'd be starting to look at other cars by now, but I really can't think of anything I fancy in the same budget right now. Gotta love her! :D

Anyone think of any hidden features or anything I might not know about? I love to know everything I can about my cars!

Hi, only a small detail but the door pockets swivel outwards giving better access
Rob

How so?

Pull the top of the pocket, it flips down.

Nice upgrade from the E85, when I got my latest zed after the E89 I almost ripped the door apart trying to flip the top down. The side pockets are virtually useless :x

Far easier to clear out.. ESP with all the cr*p I seem to stuff in there!

I do rather like the compartment, under the steering to the right..
It's a handy space to stick Carly in..

My e89 came with a bare panel there with no pull down compartment, I've managed to source a used one in the correct colour which surprised me as it seems a fairly rare colour but it seems to be an extremely fiddly panel to change-I will have a go when I'm at normal fighting strength :guns:

Yep the door pockets don't hold a lot but they are the perfect size for BMW umbrellas, picked two new ones up cheap from a dealer on eBay, very handy to have in Scotland

I like the way that the door pockets can 'grip' things that you put in there if they are a little too wide. Stops my torch and house keys rattling BRUCIE BONUS.....

Most of all, I like the 'secret' shelf under the driver's seat.

It's designed for the handbook, I suppose, but I use it for stuff I don't want to leave on view or in the glove compartment (which doesn't hold much, anyway).

Did not even know this was there! How does 1 access this shelf?

I discovered while fitting a new speaker in the footwell there's a rocker switch on the corner of the seats that electrically adjusts the width of the backrest. I obviously haven't read my handbook :?

Found the first aid kit in a compartment under the passenger seat. Stuffed full with enough bandages to treat a major incident :o

Didn't know there was a shelf under the seat - I must remember to look! And ... what's a Carly? ... :?

Carly is an app, it lets you read/clear fault codes & code in some different functions for your car

Thanks Rob ... I haven't even got a smartphone so pardon my asking! I can get apps on my tablet I assume but not sure about my laptop. Still living in the 50s! ...
