Hid lost instructions

I've finally got around to installing my HID kit into my (off the car) headlights but lost all instructions that came with them.
The kit is the x vision from HIDS direct
Q1.I know it's probably obviously daft but I assume it fits in the projector lamp holder
Q2 does all this gubbins fit inside the headlight unit
Q3. I've got yellow and brown wires on the original lampholder but red and black on the HID kit.
Any help or pointers to the topics already posted would be great :thumbsup:
 
Right I've fitted it all inside the housing etc but does anyone know the wiring colours. Original bulb holder is brown and yellow....new HID wires are red and black. These I'm sure just push into the original connector but does anyone know which to which
 
They'll only work one way I seem to recall, try them and see or get a multimeter on the loom to get polarity.
I seem to recall doing one of mine the wrong way and it didn't explode. There's also WDS online.
I assumed brown was negative but think it was the other way.

I've searched a few posts and I read that yellow was + and brown - so ill give it a whirl...I was just a bit worried they'd go pop :thumbsup:
 
I ought to perhaps give HID's direct a quick call before I put it all back together. Luckily I've got the lights on the bench so I can tinker around. I've got a ballast and two black boxes to lose in the housing...not quite sure what they are...maybe something to do with the lights out code overriders
 
Yes it's a bit clumsy for a slim kit and I think at least one of the boxes is to avoid CANBUS errors. I stuck the ballast right near the front on the inner sidewall and the other two boxes on the side or roof.
