Just fitted those myself after my first set died after 3 years.

Slim ballast and look great once installed

I got the slim ballast 4k HIDs for my E36. They would give a bulb waning when you turned them off unless you stopped the engine first. So much for error free.

My '03 Z4 is supposed to have bi-xenon lights but there's a conventional H7(?) bulb in the headlight unit too. I'm not sure what it's there for. Anybody know?

Obviously these bulbs looks a bit yellow compared to the xenons. I'm thinking of getting a pair of those psuedo xenon 'white light' bulbs to replace them.

Amazingly, after talking about my hid's, one has decided to die I was messing about trying to fit a sidelight bulb, so may have loosened a plug.

By the way, never fit them through the wheelarch. Bumper off and headlight out is much easier.

Hey just brought a hid kit. Does anybody know weather the bulbs will fit straight in lamp or will I need bulb holders too. Any info would be most appreciated

They fit straight in. May need to bend the metal holders a bit though.
