HID kit problem

Hi! I tried to fit my hid kit today together with my facelift headlights and the hid bulbs flash once and go off. Any ideas? :?
I bought the kit from hid direct and I confirmed with them that the kit was suitable for the zed. Normal bulbs work ok

The clue may be in the comment about fitting facelift headlights. The Avatar looks like a prefacelift so the facelift headlights are not a straight fit in your car.

Have you made the changes to fit them (which I can't recall what they are but wiring and/or LCM coding iirc)

Is it a can-bus kit?

Do you get any lamp warning lights on the dash?

It's a bit strange as they should be plug and play. It sounds like a faulty kit, I had a quick google for you and it brings up quite a bit if info about your problem and that its related to the kit itself.

I bought mine from www.HIDS4u.co.uk

Cheers guys. Fitting facelifts is not the problem as they are halogen facelifts. Problems arise with xenon facelift headlights from what i know. The halogens are straight swap.

I believe that either the hid kit is faulty or that either the car battery or the headlights fuse needs an upgrade. The battery is around 1 year old. The oem fuse i think is 5A from a search i made i did not check my car. Hid direct states that it should be 20A. So maybe this is a possible cause?

However i am not happy with the quality from hid direct i had the bulbs send twice because the first time one had marks on it and the other one could not be secured in place. And again the glass of the bulbs that arrived the second time do not seem clear and they did not came in an original package. I thought hid direct was a good supplier as many here installed hids from them.

I send hids direct and email and I will wait until Monday for their reply. I might go for your kit if they do not solve my issues even thought it costs twice the price I paid.
