Hibernation

The new car only a month old has been sorned and gone into hibernation until mid March 17 - it will be covered with a pair of king sized cotton sheets and connected to a maintenance charger.

A while ago there was a long discussion how a battery charger should be connected - ie directly to the battery posts or to the points under the bonnet. The handbook now clarifies this and state they should Only be connected to the jump start points under the bonnet.

That's odd, I can't think what harm it could cause connecting directly to the battery terminals? :?

Nor can I - but it is very specific and does say "ONLY" so I will obey! - it would be silly not to really!

Current flow.
While Ctek have designed in spiking protection theyre obv avoiding liability for any mishaps or damage that could occur.
Isolating the battery should be advised as ive used mine to recondition 2 batteries, directly connected without any issue.
