It may not have the big monster engine of the R's. But if there was a car that embodies the spirit and the classic looks of Mr. Chapman's original idea. It's this car.
It's also why I rather like the new Caterham 160.

Due to a form of OCD 
I used to always SORN my weekend cars over the winter. The thought of the car getting covered in salt and road dirt resulted in my just looking at it for 6 months in the garage, no fun at all. But with the Z4M I've decided to run it all winter and I've had some cracking topless drives even if the car is disgusting by the time I get back.
At the end of the day, it's only a bucket of soapy water and sponge away from looking like it did pre-drive, no permanent damage

For some reason I thought I saw a for sale advert for it here. Aren't the BMW factory covers (yours) the same part number for coupe or roadster? Yours was in fact used on a roadster.

Adding to what I said above. I always seemed to sell my weekend cars come March\April as my eyes were always wondering to Pistonheads Classifieds over the winter and I'd made my mind up I wanted a change. In reality I'd forgotten how good they were to drive and the fun I'd missed out on. Hopefully actually driving the car all year round should put a stop to that for a while anyway
