Hi had my z4 for a month

The 2005 bmw z4 locked me out. So far I have changed the drivers door actuator, bowdens cable and handle. The inner door handle now works. I put a bit of solder wire in the stretch the movement on the new Bowden cable now door opens outside until you lock it then both handles don’t work I’m so puzzled now can anyone help please

Hello and welcome to the group.
If you put just the tiniest bit too much tension on the outer handle cable, when you shut the door it holds the mechanism tight so nothing can undo it. If you've got to that point and the door is jammed shut then you are stuffed, to put it politely.
You will need to remove the drivers door card and then cut a hole into the actuator to punch the deadlock bar open.
If you are very lucky, with very small hands, you may be able to reach into the door and disconnect the cable from the outer handle at the actuator.

I have experienced the problem that I’ve heard a lot about in the past and dreaded happening to me.
Door closed and locked, press the key fob, or turn the key in the lock and the knob pops up but the door remains stubbornly shut. Unable to be opened from either the inside or the outside.
This is caused by an internal failure within the lock assembly and you are pretty much stuffed as you cannot remove the lock because two of the mounting screws are on the rear edge of the door.
If you are really lucky it may just be down to a build up of grime inside and a liberal soak with WD40 or similar...
 
Btw, My Dad lives in Littlehampton (Southway). I am visiting him Monday afternoon, but it will be a very quick visit before driving back up to Heathrow to get a flight for our holiday.
I have quite a few door actuators, cables etc., so if you need any parts I can bring them down as long as you let me know by Sunday afternoon.
