Hi There,

Hope you all are well.

I have only just come across this site and looks really useful, I wondering if anyone can please give me any advice on purchasing a Z4.

I dont own a car at present but have always wanted a Z4 convertible and due to a recent company car allowance and fuel card I have finally decided to go for it.

Can anyone recommend from their own experience a type of Z4 (ie SE or Sport) and also a good honest place to buy from in York or surrounding area. I'm looking for something from 2007 or 2008 in Silver or Black, budget of 15k although would prefer to spend around 13k. I'm flexible on engine size, would like nice interior (not sure how much this varies between type), I would also like it to holds it value as much as possible (As i'm sure everyone would :) )

Apologies if the above is a bit fagiue as i don't have a great deal of car experience, but I do know I like the Z4, also not sure what the differences are between SE or Sport.

Anyone who can provide any advice on any of the above when purchasing a Z4 it would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy. Welcome to the forum.
First port of call should be AlanJ's buying guide here...http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21281
Then also search the threads for anything specific. Best advice I can give you is to look around and see what the market is like/whats available before jumping in. Would seem that at the moment you can get decent/correct-for-you spec for decent money, but obviously there are lots of other factors as with buying any other car (service history, HPI check etc). For your budget you should be able to find a nice example and tbh you'll probably find one on here thats been looked after so keep your eyes peeled in the BUY AND SELL section.
Best of luck!

Hi Andy and welcome to the forum, the year your looking at is facelifted models so 2.5 and 3.0 ltr six cylinder engines the 2.0ltr is only a four cylinder the six is far better

Hi. I recently bought a BMW Z4 3.0si from Cramag in Leeds. Not too far away from York. The owner is called Neal and he is a BMW dealer based at Rawdon, Leeds. Very helpful and always has 2 or 3 Z4's for sale. Best conditon and usually very good value. He still has one that I keep wondering....should I have bought it instead of mine. You'll not find a better condition Z4 for its age and the milage (13,000 miles)is completely genuine.

Hi and welcome (from Scarborough) to the Forum. Hope my pre owned check list will be of use. The Cramag Zed looks a decent place to start looking and at this time of year it's a buyers market. Good luck with your search.
