Hi, I bought my first BMW a month or so ago, a 2007 grey 3.0 si coupe. I think I found the needle in the haystack, as the car had only covered 12000 miles, and by the look of the underside it must have been a summer only car since new. First impressions are that it feels like a real privilege to get to drive such a car to work and back each day, the torque and flexibility of the engine makes the generally impressive modern diesels feel utterly feeble. I plan to make a like a sheep and follow the others by fitting CSl wheels and lowering her slightly.

Cheers, Phil.

Hi and welcome to the forum Phil

Sounds like you have got a nice low mileage model you must be well pleased

What colour is it and do you have any photos as you will get alot of these if not :worthless:

Yes, I was suspicious of the mileage claim, but a bit of crawl around quite quickly revealed it to be straight as an arrow, the way I look at it 12000 miles is a normal years worth of motoring, and I would say that the car looks like you would expect a cared for 1 year old car to look like inside and out. I looked at a couple of others before hand and they were showing 45000 and 62000 respectively, and they showed their mileage on the seat edge and steering wheels, mine looks like you drove it from the showroom yesterday by comparison. Don't get me wrong, I stretched myself a little to buy it. The car had spent its whole life within 20 miles of Inverness and all the paperwork seemed to stack up.

Pics in the next day or two.

But........ :worthless:

Welcome Phil, great choice.

Now has anyone mentioned pictures??

re lowering

These are coupe specific (not sure why) but only lower a small amount - 20mm front and 10mm rear.

The springs below lower 30mm all round.

Thanks for all the welcomes.

Despite having bought the car from Inverness, I actually live near Lincoln, so a two hour drive to Manchester Airport followed by a 1 hour flight and then a 9 hour drive home was a pretty long day, but I always knew that I would have to be prepared to travel to find a nice version of such rare car. I wanted grey, and heated seats. I didn't want sat nav or xenons, both are great when new, but just an expensive maintenance risk as a car gets older in my opinion.

Stand by for the photo's once i've read the 'how to post photo's' thread....don't want to do it wrong and get a telling off straight away!

I know Lincoln very well as it was my old stomping ground when I was younger. Still visit regularly as my son now lives at Wragby, just a few miles north east of Lincoln. Will look out for you next time I am down visiting

If I have successfully followed the instructions for uploading photo's you will be able to see my car, if not bear with me while I have another go.
