Never did get round to updating this, the repairs was extremely straight forward, new airbags/dash tensioners.
The body damage was restricted to bonnet and bumper,so replaced those and a headlamp, the major cost being all the pyrotechnics for the bonnet system,it has pedestrian safety so has active locks and hinges etc, easy enough to rectify but a bloody fortune.
Anyhow I have been using it over the last 6 months and must say I am impressed with all aspects of the car.
As usual I get bored with my own cars after a short while,so it’s been advertised on and off over last 6 months, starting off at a little profit for me for all the work done and ending up at what it owes me £15k all in.
For all the adverts I have only had one single enquiry, but not a single person viewing it,so I think a cat s must turn people off immediately, don’t know why if the repairs wasn’t major and no serious damage.
He had a rac inspection done and immediately withdrew his interest, after reading the report I don’t blame him at all.
Low water level was listed as a fault! The level was between min and max, however this was described as low so must be gospel,no warning lights, topped it to max with approx 250 ml and it’s not budged from that.
So when is low actualy low?
The engine bay was clean so was listed as a fault as it may be disguising oil leaks, haha,it’s clean because I clean it every week.
A new bonnet was listed as a fault?
And on and on.
rac wouldn’t even explain themselves to me as I hadn’t paid for the report , I was so angry that the engineers can get away with things like this, more so as he was extremely complimentary about the car to my face.
Ah well,I may as well keep it than sell at a loss so no big deal as I have grown to realy appreciate it for what it is and do find myself taking a second look at it when it’s parked up.
So looks like I will be a long term lurker on this forum now.
Obviously the obligatory pictures in the sun are below.
